FAQs

1. How much do you charge to perform at an event?
Currently we do not charge a specific fee. We take donations. Once our 501c3 status has been approved, we will then establish a fee for services.

2. How much do you charge to teach?
Fees for teaching or conducting workshops vary based upon length of class, number of classes, number of students, and location.

3. How long are your programs?
Our programs can be tailored to fit your needs. We can do as few as one song up to an full length concert (averaging 60 minutes)

4. How far in advance should I contact you to perform?
The sooner we can put you on our calendar, the better. Early booking will ensure that you will have us on the date you desire.

5. Do you accept new members? How do I join? How old do you have to be to join?
We are always open and willing to accept new members. In order to join you should:
1. Come observe a rehearsal.
2. Fill out the application and letter of intent.
3. Audition.
4. Begin attending rehearsals, learning repertoire of group and solo songs, pay dues $10 per month, attend meetings, attend performances. Age to join varies. If you are under 18, you have to have a parent be responsible for you in order to join. Otherwise, age is not a factor in being a member.



6. Do I have to be fluent in Sign language? Do I have to be a dancer or actor?
No you do not have to be fluent in sign language to join. We have varied skill levels in the company. Being a member will expose you to more use of the language and your skills will increase as a result. Also, no you do not need to be a dancer or actor. Those are also skills that you will learn and develop if you do not already posses them. However, having them is a definite plus (smile).

7. Are you a local group only or do you travel? Where do you perform?
We are based in the Washington DC metro area but we will travel as requests and the means to do so come to us. We perform where we are invited and asked to perform. Past Performances   

8. Where do you rehearse?
Most times we meet at Gallaudet University, occasionally we relocate as needed to a different location.

9. Are any of your performers deaf or hard of hearing?
At this present moment there are two Gallaudet students one is hearing and one is deaf; we are seeking more deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing members.

10. Who does your choreography and translations?
Most material is choreographed by Ray Anderson. Group songs are translated by Ray Anderson, solos are done by the performer with Ray's guidance.
