Margel became interested in learning sign language 8 years ago after she saw it being used in her Church. She loved the way your hands and face had to be used to convey a message and soon after joined the Sign Ministry. Through the ministry she learned how to sign basic sentences and later graduated to interpreting music and sermons. Margel interpreted at her Church for several years before stepping down to focus on other priorities. During her signing sabbatical she realized how much she missed signing, but she also realized that signing required a commitment to excel.

With a renewed passion, Margel started taking ASL classes at PGCC and through outings with her ASL class, was introduced to Raymont Anderson, B.E.L.I.E.V.E.S’ Founder and President, at a silent supper. She later joined the B.E.L.I.E.V.E. Family and has grown in skills and confidence under the guidance of Ray Anderson. Margel is married and has a daughter.
